Stretch (Book) - Have We Stretching Ourselves Enough?

Stretch by Scott Sonenshein
Recently, I am reading a book called Stretch (2017), by Scott Sonenshein. It challenges the common thinking that "the key to success and satisfaction is to have more : more money, more time and more possession", which of course is wrong (at least from the author's point of view).

Scott Sonenshein is the Henry Gardiner Symonds Professor of Management at Rice University, he uses captivating stories to illustrate research in psychology and management. This book of him is here prove the point that people or organization can be succeeded with so little while others can be failed with so much.

I am still in the first chapter but has been captivated by the first story of "A Tale Of Two Beers: Work with What You've Got

I loved the following highlight from the preface and it aptly summarized the key coverage of the book:
"People and organizations approach resources in two different ways : "chasing" and "stretching". When chasing, we exhaust ourselves in the pursuit of more. When stretching, we embrace the resources we already have. This free us to find creative and productive ways to solve problems, innovate, and engage out work and lives more fully"
So, before we start to chase (for more), ask ourselves, have we stretched enough?

Cheers!
